Information
The Mechanical Thermology hybrid training program is designed to equip maintenance and reliability professionals with both hands-on skills and theoretical knowledge to perform mechanical thermography inspections.
Through a combination of on-demand online coursework and a two-day in-person workshop, participants learn how to use infrared thermal imaging to detect and diagnose issues in mechanical systems—before failures occur.
Course Includes:
- Online Prerequisite Module Introduction to the Science of Thermology Delivered on-demand with a unique registration code.
- Two-Day In-Person Workshop Taught by a seasoned thermography expert with 20 years of field experience at: WKU Innovation Campus, Bowling Green, KY
Topics Covered
Participants will train on real-world applications including:
- Belts, bearings, motors
- HVAC components
- Bus ducts and switchgear
- Cold storage and transformers
- Image capture, tuning, diagnostics
- Report writing and NFPA 70B compliance
- Route and program development
- Review of hundreds of real-world infrared images

No prior thermography experience is required.
Attendees will receive a Dual Certificate of Completion from KTI and WKU.
